Actress Kyra Zagorsky Cast As New League Of Assassins Villain

The legacy of Malcolm Merlyn and the League of Assassins are going to be felt later this season on “Arrow,” as a new casting announcement has revealed that Malcolm’s death will not go unnoticed.

TV Line has announced that actress Kyra Zagorsky (Helix) has been cast in the role of Athena, a former member of the League of Assassins who will seek to protect the legacy of Malcolm Merlyn.

Here is how the character is described by TV Line:
[blockquote cite=]

Bearing a scar across her face as an example of her fearlessness and determination, Athena aims to maintain the legacy of Malcolm Merlyn, her fallen commander — and thus sees anyone who was once associated with him as a potential threat.[/blockquote]

After last week’s episode, it’s hard not to think that the character of Athena will be revealed to be the one who is actually playing Cayden James, and being the one who framed Oliver for killing Cayden’s son.

But even if that doesn’t end up being the case, it’s safe to say that the legacy of the League of Assassins will be part of the focus moving forward, as Nyssa Al Ghul will also be returning later this season to warn Team Arrow about a new threat. Will that new threat be Athena? We shall soon find out as “Arrow” season six continues on.
