Brandon Routh Joins The Cast Of Arrow As A DC Superhero

“Arrow” looks to be getting it’s biggest new recurring character yet for season 3, as TV Line is reporting that former Superman Brandon Routh will be joining the cast this season as a very familiar DC superhero. Throwing a spoiler warning out there for those who want to remain fully surprised for season 3, especially when it comes to other superheros making an appearance on the show, but below is the report from  TV Line on Brandon Routh’s character and his role in season 3:

The erstwhile Man of Steel is joining the CW hit’s third season in the recurring role of Ray Palmer, aka DC superhero The Atom, TVLine has learned exclusively.

An unparalleled scientist and inventor, Ray will play an unexpected role in the lives of Oliver and (rumored love interest) Felicity as the new owner of Queen Consolidated. Palmer’s plans for Queen Consolidated’s Applied Sciences Division will be shrouded in mystery.

This is some very cool casting. Not only for bringing Ray Palmer into the series, but I think getting Brandon Routh to portray another DC superhero is a cool idea, and think he’ll be great for the role.
