Arrow To End In Season 8

Some big news has just dropped regarding “Arrow,” as Variety has reported that season eight will be the series’ final season, consisting of ten episodes.

Here is the statement from producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Beth Schwartz on the series coming to end:

“This was a difficult decision to come to, but like every hard decision we’ve made for the past seven years, it was with the best interests of ‘Arrow’ in mind. We’re heartened by the fact that ‘Arrow’ has birthed an entire universe of shows that will continue on for many years to come. We’re excited about crafting a conclusion that honors the show, its characters and its legacy and are grateful to all the writers, producers, actors, and — more importantly — the incredible crew that has sustained us and the show for over seven years.”

Stephen Amell also took to Twitter to share his thanks to everyone:

While this definitely is some big news, I can’t say it’s shocking. There have been hints that next season would be the last, and none more so than the tease we got in the crossover last year, and with season eight only consisting of ten episodes, next year’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover just might be where the series ends.

After being with the show since the beginning, and writing about it here on Quiver for the last six seasons, it is going to take some getting used to knowing next year will be it for “Arrow,” but I am glad the series will end as intended by the show runners, and can’t wait to see how it wraps up.
