Another actor looks to be joining the cast for the third season of “Arrow,” as TV Line is reporting that actor Karl Yune will be playing Maseo Yamashiro, which will be a major recurring role for the season. In the comics, Maseo Yamashiro is the husband of Tatsu Yamashiro, who we just learned yesterday is being played by Devon Aoki. Much like Tatsu, Maseo Yamashiro looks to be featured in the flashback sequences in season 3. TVLine has learned that Karl Yune has landed the major recurring role of Maseo Yamashiro, who will be introduced in flashbacks as Oliver’s handler. Over time, he also will evolve into a teacher and a friend who helps Oliver step ever closer to becoming the superhero he is today.
Though their names are different, Maseo and Tatsu Yamashiro seem to match the descriptions in an earlier report about some possible new characters we may in season 3 named Toshi and Akiko. And while we haven’t gotten any announcements yet about the other two characters mentioned in that report, Daniel and Seth, the supporting cast of new characters looks to be getting filled, and I’m sure we can look forward to more season 3 announcements soon at the San Diego Comic Con in a few weeks.
